The small town of Bad Bibra is located in the south of Saxony-Anhalt. Bad Bibra is a state-approved resort. The city is not far from the state border with Thuringia in the valley of the Biberbach. At the beginning of the 9th century, Bibra was first mentioned as Bibraho in a list of the goods of the Hersfeld Monastery, built by Archbishop Lullus of Mainz († 786).
During the German Revolution of 1848/49, the city was one of the most important rebellion areas in Prussian Thuringia (Province of Saxony).
The former Bibra has been allowed to call itself Bad Bibra since 1925. In the 19th century, bathing tourism flourished again.
Laucha an der Unstrut is a former street village and is located on the old Langensalza-Freyburg-Merseburg military road. The name of the town comes from the Slavic language and refers to the former swamping of the Unstrut area.
The 1112 meter long city wall surrounds the historic city center and is still well preserved with one of the three gates that used to be there. In castle settlements, the chateau with a baroque garden should be highlighted.
